College Release/Staff Education Reimbursement Programs
The College Release Program (CRP) is an educational benefit for full-time, benefits-eligible staff that have completed their initial probationary period. Eligible staff may receive up to three (3) hours per week of release time from normal duties to take credit-bearing courses toward a degree plan at an institution of higher learning.
The Staff Education Reimbursement is a reimbursement benefit for full-time, benefits-eligible staff that have completed their initial probationary period. Employees must earn a "C" grade or better in credit-bearing classes at UHD or an accredited institution, be employed at UHD through the official close of the term, and have no financial obligations to UHD or other components of the UH system. If these conditions are met, staff will be eligible to receive staff education reimbursement of up to $937 for one undergraduate class or $1,357 for one graduate class. This program is on a first come, first served basis.
Employees enrolled in undergraduate classes at other accredited institutions of higher learning will receive staff education reimbursement for one class at the UHD undergraduate rate of up to $937 or their accredited institution's rate, whichever is less. Employees enrolled in graduate or doctoral classes at another accredited institution of higher learning will receive staff education reimbursement for one class at the UHD graduate rate of $1,357 or their accredited institution's rate, whichever is less.
