Visitor Parking & Request for Parking Services

Visitors to the University of Houston-Downtown campus are always welcome. The Visitor Garage is situated beneath the Welcome Center.  Access to the garage is from Girard Street. The daily parking rate is a flat fee of $10, payable by credit card only, cash payments are not accepted.

Download the AMP Park app for the most convenience way to park in UHD visitor parking lots - Daly Street lot, Girard Street lot, Naylor Street lot, and Rothwell Street lot. The hourly parking rate is $3.00 and the app makes managing your parking simple.  Users will receive a reminder 15 minutes prior to their time expiring, allowing them to easily extend thier parking time directly through the app.

How to Use AMP Park for Visitor Parking

  • Download the App - available on the Apple App Store or Google Play.
  • Create an account, input your license plate number, and select the parking zone indicated on nearby signs. Please double check your license plate to make sure you have entered your plate in the app correctly or you might receive a ticket.
  • Enter your credit card information.
  • Select your parking time.
  • Note: There is a $0.60 cent transaction fee

Departments or individuals conducting events and bringing visitors or guests on campus are encouraged to contact Parking and Transportation Services at least three days before the scheduled event in order to help coordinate their parking needs (validation tickets, maps, parking spaces, permits, keycodes, etc.).

Visitor parking is intended solely for individuals not associated with UHD. Students, Faculty and Staff members should NOT park in the Visitor Garage unless notified and approved by Parking and Transportation Services. Click for map.

Department Validations

Validations  for Visitor Garage are available to university departments for distribution to their guests at a discounted rate of $5.00. Validations, reservation of spaces in the Visitor garage and departments' SC Voucher payment must be submitted to the Parking Department at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled day of your event or your guests' arrival or special event.
