Faculty/Staff Information & Updates
Parking permits are renewed annually are available to part-time and full-time benefits eligible employees through a pre-tax payroll deduction. By obtaining a parking permit, whether virtual or hangtag, the permit holder acknowledges to become familiar with UHD's parking policies and regulations. All parking and transportation policies are guided by the University of Houston-Downtown Traffic and Parking Policy PS-01.B.01.
All vehicles owners are required to register thier license plates or display a valid UHD parking permit when parking in university parking lots. Please visit our General Rules and Regulations page for more information.
In the parking garages, designated parking areas are indicated by color-coded columns.
- Blue Columns: Academic Bldg. Garage (P1 & P2) provides unreserved parking for Staff at all times, 24 hours a day. Faculty should not park on P2 unless the faculty area on P3 Girard Street bldg. garage is full.
- Red Columns: Academic Bldg. Garage (P3) Reserved Parking Permit required, Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm. Reserved parking is available to Academic Department Chairs, Associate/Assistant Deans, Deans, Associate/Assistant Vice Presidents, and Vice Presidents. Executive Directors will be placed on a wait list and assigned to a space as it becomes available.. These spaces are strictly enforced by UHD Police Department; violators will be will be cited.
- Green Columns: Girard Street Bldg. Garage-P3 (through second set of gates) unreserved parking for Faculty, Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm.
- Fridays only, Staff may park in the interior rows only. Faculty-only parking is identified with posted signage.
