The Library of Congress Takes Note
UHD's very own Professor of Spanish Raquel Chiquillo, Ph.D., and Online Learning Librarian Jennifer Fuentes can now be heard on the Library of Congress's recording of its Connecting Communities Digital Initiative's (CCDI) Summer Fuse event!
Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Hanjin Mao
Dr. Hanjin Mao has implemented Experiential Philanthropy in one of her undergraduate courses. A service-learning pedagogy that has been adopted by many universities across the country and globally, Dr. Mao is the first one to adopt it in the Houston area. Students act like philanthropists by giving grants to local nonprofits, and they study these nonprofits and social issues and then decide where to invest funds.
O'Kane Theatre Fall Auditions
It's theater season at UHD! Drama interest meetings for the fall semester will take place on August 27-28. Anyone and everyone interested in all aspects of theatre is invited to attend. Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing with a unique colonial Mexico setting and immerse yourself in the enigmatic world of Harold Pinter's plays.
