Talent Search Eligibility Requirements
Talent Search Program Eligibility & Application
The TRIO Talent Search Program at the University of Houston-Downtown assists students in the Aldine and Houston Independent School Districts who aspire to pursue postsecondary education. Students must meet eligibility requirements to apply.
Who is Eligible to Apply?
- Attend a middle, intermediate, or high school in Aldine ISD or Houston ISD
- Two out of three students must meet federal economic guidelines and live in a household where neither parent has a bachelor's degree
- Willing to participate in Talent Search activities
- Planning to attend a college, university, or training program after high school
- Between 11 and 27 years of age
- A U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Demonstrate the potential to succeed in postsecondary education
- Not currently enrolled in a college or university, and do not already hold a college degree
