Digital Flyer Guidelines

Please refer to these guidelines when creating a flyer for digital signage display.

1 – APPROVAL

In all instances, the flyer needs to be approved by Student Activities before being posted on the digital signage.

The event must already be on Campus Groups with the flyer uploaded with the event.
The recommended time frame for submission for approval is 2 weeks prior the event.
The flyer should be displayed on the monitors about a week before the event.

2 – COPYRIGHT

Be mindful to not use copyrighted images without written consent. The best practice to be sure you are not violating any copyright law, and to avoid any penalties, includes:

  1. Abstaining from downloading copyrighted material from internet, including from sites that claim you can download images for “free”.
  2. When willing to download an image, first obtain written permission from the author or organization that owns a copyright.
  3. When using images that fall under Public Domain, make sure you credit the photo source.
  4. Creating your own image, taking your own photograph.

3 – CONTENT

The flyer needs to contain the following information:

  1. Organization/Department name
  2. Title of the Event
  3. Date(s) and Time(s) of the Event
  4. Location of the Event
  5. Brief description of the Event: Keep it short and Simple. Use few words.
  6. Contact name and information

4 – LAYOUT

The digital signage channels are currently set to display slideshows that contain .jpg images size 1024x768 pixels (or 14.22 x 10.66 inches), as well as 1920x1080 pixels (or 26.66 x 15 inches),  DPI 72. In all instances the image needs to be horizontal.
