Job Summary
The Emergency Management Specialist collaborates in the development, coordination, and administration of university emergency preparedness programs and the continuity of operations plans.
Duties
- Coordinates and maintains the university's continuity of operations program and plan (COOP)
 - Coordinates the development, implementation, testing/training/exercising, and review of campus emergency management plans and programs
 - Assists with the operation of the campus emergency operations center (EOC) during crisis events
 - Assists with post-incident analysis to include writing and monitoring After Action Reports (AARs), Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), and Implementation Plans (IPs)
 - Coordinates and maintains department social media platforms and posts emergency messages during campus emergencies

Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Homeland Security, or related field
 - Experience accepted in lieu of education
 
Required Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience
 
License/Certification:
- IS 100, 200, 700, 800
 
Preferred Qualifications
- ICS 300 and 400; AEM, CEM, or TEM credential;
 - working knowledge of VEOCI or Everbridge;
 - Proficiency with social media platforms.

Physical Demands:
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment that does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements. However, work may involve moderate exposure to dust, dirt, loud noises, electrical systems, and chemicals
 - Position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc. Occasional lifting (45lbs), carrying (25lbs), pushing (25lbs), and pulling(25lbs)Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, and crouching
