Job Summary
The Financial Assistant III performs a variety of tasks to provide financial support to complex department or unit.
Duties
- Performs a variety of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting and budgeting tasks
- Prepares, processes, and approves vouchers, purchase requisitions, change orders, and travel vouchers; reconciles account cost centers
- Completes cost center verifications
- Collects and processes invoices, verifying them against the relevant purchase order
- Assists with preparing budgets and financial projections
- Provides administrative support to staff, including, but not limited to, coordinating travel arrangements, scheduling services, coordinating meetings, and answering calls and emails

- Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required Education:
- 30 hours of college course work
Required Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years of related job experience, including experience working in an accounting, budgeting, or purchasing function
License/Certification:

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of a variety of accounting practices and financial tasks, and the related trends, issues, and accepted practices
Skills:
- Good technical skills, including proficiency in MS Office and PeopleSoft;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Good organizational and time management skills
Abilities:
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse university community.
