Job Summary

The Executive Director, Admissions & Recruitment serves as a visionary, supporter, facilitator, and collaborator who systematically shapes enrollment and ensures university goals are met.

Duties

  • Provides leadership, direction, and management oversight to recruitment and outreach functions as part of the enrollment management senior leadership team
  • Oversees all functions within the Office of Admissions
  • In consultation with the appropriate constituents, creates a comprehensive recruitment plan, including conducting student searches and creating print and electronic publications; provides consultation and advisement to the colleges regarding prospective student recruitment and enrollment
  • Provides research and analysis to support institution-wide initiatives related to undergraduate, graduate, and international student recruitment and financial leveraging strategies
  • Assists in the development of divisional fiscal and resource strategies, plans, and policies
  • Analyzes inquiry and application trends to identify potential opportunities for advancement or efficiency; monitors admissions activities and conducts a thorough analysis of key performance indicators

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Master's degree

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related job experience, including management experience , proven leadership progression, and a proven commitment to collaboration and integrating systems and processes

License/Certification:

  • Must maintain a valid, current driver's license

Work Location and Physical Demands

Primary Work Location:

  • Works in an office environment

Physical Demands:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements
  • Individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has occasional exposure to physical risks
  • Work involves rare exposure to elements, such as inclement weather and extreme temperatures
  • May, on rare occasions, be required to work in a high, dangerous place or near moving mechanical parts
  • May, on rare occasions, be exposed to airborne particles or cancer-causing agents
  • Must have precise hand-eye coordination, good spatial awareness, and the ability to identify and distinguish colors
  • Must have the ability to move items of up to 50lbs

Financial Administration

  • Assesses and modifies organizational unit's budget annually to provide sufficient resources for organizational unit's operations aligned with goals and objectives, in consideration of the university's budget constraints.
  • Directs administration of the organizational unit's budget to ensure effective utilization of financial resources and compliance with federal, State, and university policies and procedures.
  • Approves disbursement of funds consistent with the organizational unit's budget.
  • Monitors status of organizational unit's budget, and directs the resolution of deficiencies and/or discrepancies.

Organizational Engagement

  • Positively represents organizational unit to internal and external constituents in support of the organizational unit's efforts and in recognition of its accomplishments.
  • Coordinates with other university administrators to collaborate endeavors across organizational units.
  • Builds rapport with external constituents to advance the organizational unit's goals and objectives and engage the community with the university's efforts to address the needs and advance the development of the region.
  • Competently responds to audits and requests from governmental entities and UH-System on behalf of the organizational unit.
