Job Summary
The Director, Marketing serves as a lead project manager for marketing campaign development, directing all marketing related activities.
Duties
- Provides oversight and direction for growth marketing strategies for degree programs, including multiple graduate-level programs and undergraduate degree programs
- Provides oversight and direction for the overall UHD branding strategy, including setting creative direction and individual campaign design and execution
- Provides oversight and creative direction for all marketing materials, ensuring all UHD graphics are consistent and accurate
- Works closely with all levels of professionals internally and externally to communicate marketing strategy, messaging, and expectations
- Provides training, direction, and supervision to marketing department staff
- Plans, negotiates, and purchases media for campaigns
- Establishes and monitors budgets and the invoicing and payment process, ensuring compliance with university policies
Marginal Duties
- Documents and reports success of campaigns throughout campaign cycle. Presents campaign successes or modifications to upper level management
- Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years in campaign management, marketing or creative services project management
- Minimum of five (5) years supervising full-time staff
License/Certification:
- None required
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Management, Business, or a related field is preferred
- Minimum of seven (7) years of related job experience is preferred
- Experience in higher education is preferred
- Graphic design experience is preferred

- Knowledge of marketing campaign planning and execution
- Knowledge of the trends, issues, and practices pertaining to marketing in the higher education sector

- Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements.
- Involves sometimes working outside standard business hours to cover events, conduct interviews, and assist with communication.
- Involves travel off site to cover events, conduct interviews, and assist with communication.
- Position is physically comfortable; individual has discretion about sitting (80%), walking (10%), standing (10%), etc.
- Work environment involves minimal exposure to physical risks.
- Must be able to move up to 45lbs.
