Job Summary
The Associate Director, Annual Giving is responsible for developing a data/metrics-driven program to identify, engage and solicit alumni via multi-channel strategies and lay an engagement/giving foundation for milestone events and beyond. The Associate Director leverages partnerships from across the university to garner philanthropy of all types in support of the university. The incumbent implements best practices for giving/engagement, creates compelling messaging pertaining to university priorities, and helps build university spirit/pride through intentional collaboration with stakeholders.
Duties
- Creates and manages solicitation campaigns which increase donor participation and identify donors to migrate into the leadership giving pipeline.
- Utilizes the EngageUHS CRM and other internal and external data sources to determine most effective tactics and strategies for donor engagement.
- Maintains accurate and timely donor and giving information in the EngageUHS CRM, and reports to division and university leadership.
- Collaborates with University Relations' marketing and communication units to develop giving campaigns for alumni, friends, faculty and staff.
- Collaborates in the establishment and achievement of college and university advancement plans, integrating the annual giving program with the entire development effort.
- Serve as unit subject matter expert on annual giving trends and strategies including social media and other digital fundraising tactics.
- Develops an annual strategic plan for the university's comprehensive individual fundraising for all gifts under $5,000.
- Develops and stewards giving clubs.

Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree
Required Experience:
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in fundraising or related job experience
License/Certification:
- None required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with digital technology and databases to build, sustain, and track relationships with managed prospects
- Higher Education Annual Fund Experience
- Experience working with complex university systems
- Actively engaged in annual giving learning activities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of marketing principles and market segmentation
- Knowledge of direct mail, personal solicitation, and online giving
- Knowledge of principles and practices of annual giving campaigns
- Microsoft Office and digital solicitation channels and other similar advancement platforms (CRMs)
- Knowledge of trends in annual giving and working knowledge of contemporary donor retention strategies
