Hanife, with over a decade of experience in teaching Economics, Business, and Accounting across various universities in Houston, she's a dedicated educator. Hanife holds a Master's degree in Accounting from Rice University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Anadolu University, Turkey. Before making her mark in academia, she spent four years as an Export Area Sales Manager in Europe. Her academic journey blends theoretical knowledge with practical expertise.
She is determined to nurturing the next generation of accounting professionals. With her endless passion for teaching accounting, she combines academic rigor with practical insights to guide students towards excellence in accounting. With a focus on real-world applications and a commitment to fostering a deep understanding of accounting principles, Hanife is passionate about creating an engaging learning environment where students gain both knowledge and appreciation for the field. She started teaching accounting at Marilyn Davies College of Business in Spring 2024.

Research
My academic and research interests primarily revolve around accounting, informed by my diverse educational background and professional experiences. Throughout my career, I have been deeply engaged in exploring various aspects of accounting, ranging from theoretical frameworks to practical applications in real-world settings.
My teaching experience as a Lecturer of Accounting at the University of Houston Downtown's College of Business has further fueled my passion for this field. I'm particularly interested in studying topics such as financial reporting, managerial accounting, and auditing standards. Additionally, my involvement in scholarly activities, including publications and conference presentations, reflects my commitment to advancing knowledge in accounting research.
Furthermore, I'm interested in exploring emerging trends in accounting technology and their implications for financial reporting and analysis.
Overall, my academic and research journey is driven by a desire to deepen our understanding of accounting principles and their role in driving economic growth and stability. I'm dedicated to contributing to the ongoing discourse in the field and fostering the education next generation of accounting professionals through my teaching and research endeavors.
