Co-Defining the Path Forward
Shaping a Shared Vision for Student Success
After selecting Transferable Skills for the 21st Century as our QEP topic, we didn’t stop there. We asked: What does this mean – for us, for our students, and for our future?
To answer that, we continued listening and refining. Here is how we leaned in:
- We surveyed internal and external stakeholders to ask: What are the top 5 transferable skills students need today? The results gave us insight into shared priorities.
- We held a campus-wide Harvesting Ideas event in October 2024, creating space for students, faculty, and staff to reflect on how we are nurturing transferable skills across classrooms and co-curricular spaces. This event helped us tune into the campus pulse and uncover bright spots and gaps.
- At our January 2025 Faculty Retreat, we brought faculty and student voices to the center, putting them in conversation with each other. This retreat became a space to reflect and shape what this QEP work could mean in practice.
Together these efforts moved us from a broad topic to a shared and evolving vision – one that reflects our mission, our people, and the possibilities ahead.
