In the spirit of promoting campus safety, bridging the efforts of local law enforcement agencies, and protecting our downtown neighbors, the University of Houston-Downtown’s (UHD) innovative Police Department is hosting its second annual Safety Conference from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 5, in the Milam/Travis room of the UHD Welcome Center.

The public is encouraged to attend this free conference with dynamic speakers and interactive demonstrations. It is a “come and go” event with break-out sessions in 30-minute blocks.

“UHD is in a unique geographic location in terms of law enforcement and crime prevention,” stated UHD Police Chief Casey Davis, Ph.D. “Through our commitment to the UHD community in keeping every student, faculty member, staff member, and visitor safe, the UHD Police Department also works closely with our local law enforcement agencies to ensure a safer downtown.”
