The Gator's Guide to UHD's Weeks of Welcome Events
Do you recall how you felt on the first day of school as a child? The smell of brand-new pencils, the sense of nervous excitement when you walked through the classroom door, and the sense of relief when you saw a familiar face smiling back at you.
Whether you are a brand-new Gator or a returning student embarking on your last year on campus, we can't wait to welcome you back to UHD on Monday, August 19. In celebration of the new semester and UHD's 50th Anniversary, UHD has two fun-filled weeks in store for every Gator. Keep reading for a line-up of Gator-approved events!

Dynamic Welcome

Parade from MDCOB to WSC with Houston Dynamo's street team: 12:30-1 p.m.
Locations: Marilyn Davies College of Business (MDCOB) / Wellness & Success Center (WSC)
UHD's Marilyn Davies College of Business (MDCOB) kicks off Weeks of Welcome with a cannot miss soccer-themed welcome week event, Dynamic Welcome. Inspired by the upcoming 2026 World Cup and American Cup, the festivities include a Resource Fair, photo ops with Houston Dynamo mascot Diesel, giveaways, free food, and much more.
The highlight of the big event? A parade from MDCOB to UHD's Wellness and Success Center featuring the Texian Army, Houston Dynamo's Fan Army. Once at the WSC, expect a special meet and greet with Diesel, UHD mascot Ed-U-Gator and a very special appearance by a Houston Dynamo player!

The Center of Urban Agriculture and Sustainability focuses on urban agriculture, reducing waste, promoting recycling, bayou water sampling, and finding energy-efficient solutions.
