Assistant Vice President for Student Success Janina Arrington, Ph.D., summed up the free, five-week intensive academic college preparation program in this way: "We are excited to assist incoming first year students with an opportunity to build a solid foundation and get acclimated to the collegiate environment and experience before the start of the academic year. This is a great orientation to meet other students and build a community and sense of belonging in the transition from high school to university life."

They are earning nine college credits as they engage with faculty in small groups. They are also receiving academic support and mentoring as well as specialized peer support for Math and English to ensure student success.

Soon, all Gators will be getting ready for the fall semester, and these Summer Bridge students will be prepared and eager to join them. Say good-bye to first-day-of-class anxiety, and hello to UHD!
