The Ugly Truth: Filmmaker and Journalist David Ono To Talk About Japanese American Detention Camps

David Ono headshot

After last week's storms, it might be difficult to imagine hearing about something as horrific as American citizens being held prisoner right here in their own country. There is, however, power in community, and so we encourage you, if you can, to join us on campus for a day of fellowship, healing, and education.

ABC13 Houston Reporter Miya Shay will moderate this riveting conversation. Reservations are requested, and lunch will served.

Ono has received 28 Emmys and nine prestigious Edward R. Murrow Awards for achievement in electronic journalism. His many documentary films include "Legacy of Heart Mountain," which chronicled the stories of the people who were held in the Wyoming concentration camp during WW II.
