Job Summary
The Director, Accessible Education Center leads and sets the vision, mission, and goals for Accessible Education Center.
Duties
- Oversees all aspects of the Accessible Education Center
- Work with faculty to ensure accessibility for students with disabilities
- Provides students with letters of accommodations
- Resolves student concerns regarding accessibility and accommodations
- Provides programming and engagement activities for students served through the Accessible Education Center
Marginal Duties
- Performs all other duties as assigned

- Regularly assigns work to subordinate(s)
Supervision Given:
- Has primary responsibility for conducting performance evaluations and making recommendations for hiring and dismissing employees.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
Required Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of related job experience
License/Certification:
- Must maintain a valid, current driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in ADA law and/or disability services is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of federal and state disability law;
- Knowledge of the regulations and rules of disability services; k
- Knowledge of the trends, developments, and best practices of providing disability services in higher education setting;
- Knowledge of a range of physical, mental, and emotional disabilities
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Abilities:
- Ability to lead and manage a team;
- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
Work Location and Physical Demands
Primary Work Location:
- Works in an office environment.
Physical Demands:
- Work is normally performed in a typical, comfortable interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements;
- Individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks
- May, on rare occasions, require working in inclement weather conditions
- May, on rare occasions, be exposed to potentially hazardous bodily fluids
- Must have the ability to move items of up to 15lbs
