Job Summary
The Associate Director of Compliance and Scholarships administers scholarships and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional financial aid requirements. The Associate Director trains relevant individuals concerning financial aid compliance and manages the administration and disbursement of scholarship awards.
Duties
- Executes a system of internal controls to ensure financial aid operations comply with all relevant requirements
- Responsible for implementing and managing a university-wide scholarship management system to monitor and award scholarship funds
- Serves as a liaison with the Admissions office regarding scholarship awarding and opportunities to facilitate enrollment and retention
- Manages the overall administration of scholarships offered through the institution and external sources
- Works with communications and media team to improve student access to scholarship through webpages, social media, and other marketing and communications.
- Oversees the administration, awarding, budget management, and account reconciliation of private, institutional, and state scholarships
- Serves as a liaison with the Academic Colleges and Departments regarding scholarship awarding
- Serves as a liaison with University Advancement regarding donor engagement and reporting
- Collecting and reporting data from the scholarship management system

Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree
Required Experience:
- Minimum of six (6) years of related job experience
License/Certification:
- NASFAA Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree Experience with the scholarship management system
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the scholarship process in a higher education environment and of the related trends, issues, and accepted practices;
- Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulatory policies;
- Knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical, or professional discipline
Skills:
- Good technical skills, including proficiency in using MS Office;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Work Location and Physical Demands
Primary Work Location:
- Works in an office environment > 8 hours and a lobby customer service island or reception area for 4 to 6 hours.
Physical Demands:
- Work is performed in a typical interior work environment that does not subject the employee to unpleasant elements; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks.
