Academic Affairs Council

Charge

The Academic Affairs Council serves in an advisory capacity to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs; provides a forum for the discussion of academic matters; serves as an academic policy review body as requested by the Provost and Senior Vice President; provides a forum for campus updates and discussions on student success initiatives and other issues relevant to academic affairs as requested by the Provost and Senior Vice President.

Composition

The membership consists of the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs (chair), Associate Vice President for Programming and Curriculum, Associate Vice President for Faculty Affairs and Faculty Development, Associate Vice President for Strategic Planning, Accreditation, and Assessment, Assistant Vice President for Advising and Student Progression, presiding officer of Faculty Council, associate presiding officer of Faculty Council, the four academic deans, one department chair, four faculty  members elected from Faculty Council membership, two student representatives chosen through Student Government Association procedures, two staff representatives chosen through Staff Council procedures, one alumni member, the vice president for human resources or his/her designee, the vice president for administration or his/her designee, and the vice president for student success and student life or his/her designee and the vice president for enrollment management or his/her designee. All members have voting privileges. The provost/senior vice president for academic affairs serves as the Academic Affairs Council's chair and votes only to break a tie. Elected and appointed members (faculty, staff, and students) will serve two-year staggered terms.
