Kim Martin-Long is the Interim Dean of the College of Public Service. Prior to coming to UHD, Dr. Martin-Long was Dean of the College of Liberal Arts, Education and Human Development at the University of New Orleans, Dean of the School of Business and Humanities at Delaware Valley University in Pennsylvania, and Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Martin-Long began her career as a classroom teacher in Irving, Texas, and went on to become a professor before moving into administration. Her research interests include multi-cultural literature, experiential and engaged learning, and effective academic administration strategies. Recently, Dr. Martin-Long directed a statewide initiative in Louisiana, developing and implementing a set of Core Competencies for all state universities.
