Rosen, a 1995 UHD alumnus, earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He said
the quality of education he received and the diversity of the campus community benefitted

Henry Gonzales
Executive Director/Chief Juvenile Probation Officer, Harris County Juvenile Probation Department
Henry Gonzales was recently appointed by the Harris County Juvenile Board as Executive Director/Chief Juvenile Probation Officer of the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department. Mr. Gonzales earned the Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Criminal Justice degrees from the University of Houston-Downtown. While an undergraduate student, he began his career with the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department working part-time as a juvenile supervision officer. After earning his BS degree, he was employed full-time with the agency and promoted through the ranks. During this time, Mr. Gonzales returned to UHD to earn the Master of Science in Criminal Justice degree. He then became an adjunct instructor in the Criminal Justice program. In addition, Mr. Gonzales has been a guest speaker in numerous classes and student organization meetings, is supportive of student interns and job applicants, provides opportunities for research and student education, and was instrumental in developing the MSCJ student extern program. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Mr. Gonzales and the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department as he begins his new position on September 1, 2018.
