UHD Club Baseball Season
Seasons, as is their wont, come and go. Summer slips into fall, fall fades into winter, winter thaws into spring, and on the cycle goes. Not so for UHD's 2024 baseball season, though. That season will stay, if only in the minds of the players, parents, and coaches who participated, along with the minds of every Gator who was rooting them on in their run to the National Collegiate Baseball Association (NCBA) Division II World Series.
Bilingual E-Library Project
The innovative program, spearheaded by Dr. Maria Bhattacharjee, Director of the E-Library Program and Dr. Irene Chen, Technology Director and UHD Professor of Urban Education, turns parents' dreams for their children into digital stories. While students are taught reading comprehension and literacy skills, families are trained in technology that will enable them to join the workforce.

Celebrating 50 Years of UHD: One Main Building
As the UHD footprint continues to expand, it's hard to believe that at one time, the entire campus was centered on only one building: One Main. The site of that building, indeed all UHD, is just steps away from Allen's Landing on Buffalo Bayou where Houston was founded in 1836.

Grad Student of the Month
A recent graduate of UHD's nascent Master of Arts in Strategic Communications (MASC) program, Alexis Mondragon is as enlightened as he is educated, a charismatic 33-year-old who speaks with the conviction of someone who is certain he will accomplish much, even if he isn't quite sure what that might be just yet. June is Pride Month, which means we're taking a moment to celebrate all the Gators we love, as well as share a few choice events going on here on campus, Downtown, and beyond!
Juneteenth Comes Early to UHD
Juneteenth celebrations will begin a day early at UHD when KHOU 11 premieres its documentary "Juneteenth 1865-2024: A Legacy of Song" at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18, in the TDECU Tour Room of the Welcome Center.
