Get ready to have the last laugh this fall, as the O’Kane Theatre is set to present the high-energy, fast-paced comedy “One Man, Two Guvnors.” The upcoming production is filled with over-the-top characters, witty dialogue, and plenty (and we do mean plenty) of farcical comedy. The production will also feature a unique blend of live music and recorded performances, reminiscent of the 1960s British Invasion era.
Asked what theatre-goers should expect, Luke Fedell, Director of the O’Kane Theatre, said "The characters are often in low-stakes situations, so the humor comes from them acting like these are the most important things in the world. It's a great way to escape reality for a few hours and just have some fun."
The design team has utilized several techniques to create multiple locations within the O’Kane’s admittedly limited space, as things like force perspective and dynamic scene changes, combined with the musical numbers, should enhance the overall theatrical experience.
"One Man, Two Guvnors” is set to open at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7 in UHD’s O’Kane Theatre (OMB Third floor). Tickets are $8.45 each and are available online and at the box office.
