Parking and Transportation Services and Information Technology are excited to announce that toll tags are now an additional credential you can use to access our parking garages. In addition to your proximity card and permit barcode, you have the option to utilize your toll tag to enter and exit. You are not required to use the same credential for exit as you did for entry.
These toll tag readers are installed at our Academic Building (exterior lanes) and Shea Street Building garages for your convenience. This service is completely free. No money will be deducted from your toll tag account.
To ensure a smooth and hassle-free process, we kindly request that you drive slowly to the parking gate and patiently wait (up to five seconds) for your toll tag to be read. This will provide you seamless access into the garage.
Acceptable Texas toll tags include EZ tag, HCTRA, NTTA, TX Tag, or DNT.
Also, new proximity card readers were recently installed. They require the gate access card to be tapped directly on the card reader. We respectfully ask for your patience, as the readers may require some time to recognize your toll tag or proximity card.
If you would like to register your Texas toll tag, visit our Toll Tag Registration page for instructions.
Thank you for your cooperation. We sincerely hope that these new features will enhance your parking experience.
Happy parking!
